Local Highlight Event Featuring

Linda Lamb

Abstract artist Linda Lamb is a California native and has been a creative soul since childhood.  Formally trained in the arts, she hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design and is principal of Lamb Design Group, recognized for her high-end projects both locally and abroad for over 35 years – a “medium” intrinsically informed by a keen understanding of balance, proportion, color and composition.  Linda’s projects and personal life have included extensive travel around the world, all which serve to broaden her creative inspirations and intense love of aesthetic beauty.

For many years, abstract artwork has been Linda’s creative therapy, “an opportunity to record on canvas what intuitively moves me in the moment.”

Linda’s paintings are an extension of her passion for Life – they are high-spirited and energetic, inspired most profoundly by her own personal Journey.  Each piece is uniquely ‘titled’ to mark a unique place along the Road.

 Artist Statement

“My influences are an amalgamation of the multitude of visuals I encounter daily - whether it be the colors, rich textures and compositions in my own design practice, or the amazing natural world around us, I absorb and collect inspiration from a vast landscape.  Sometime contemplative, sometimes whimsical…. all of my paintings are ultimately the intuitive expression of emotions that resonate from within.

I may have a certain direction in mind as I begin a piece, but the real magic is in letting go and allowing the piece to unfold fluidly, without expectation or projection.  The “happy mistakes” are a joyful part of the experience and become an important part of each final piece ~ a poignant metaphor for life!  The understanding of wabi-sabi, the beauty of imperfection, is especially close to my heart as we all try to navigate new an uncertain times in our world.

Most importantly, I am deeply grateful for all of the many colorful Experiences and People that have been a part of my life and left indelible imprints on my soul.  Collectively, they / you are the ultimate source of my inspiration and creations.”

(While I have created these pieces primarily for myself, my hope is that my paintings also bring others a spark of joy!)
